Yucatan Weather

 

Generally Hot & Sunny!

 

Yucatan and weather on the Ranch is pretty good all year round with a distinct wet & dry season. At it hottest it can be pretty hot and humid but this is helped somewhat on the Ranch due to its elevated position, which means it gets a good breeze all year round.

In the winter it can be a bit chilly on the night time but only so far as to throw a blanket on the bed.

The rainy season runs from April to October and the rain comes for a couple of hours each day in the afternoons or evenings. There isn't a single day where you would be stuck in doors due to the weather.

 

Hurricanes. Yucatan does suffer from Hurricanes but being inland these are few. In fact Izamal on average sees one hurricane every 15 years. Even then the house is built to withstand anything that nature throws at it. In the last 3 years we have not even needed to take the windmill down. Even the tropical storms have little effect here and have normally blown themselves out well before arriving so far in land.
