Mediums
This is the communication with spirits. Most mediums will work with a guide who will be their spirit teacher in simple terms. Over time they learn to communicate so that other spirits can talk to the mediums spirit guide and then spirit guide talks to the medium, like a translator. Some mediums will communicate with other spirits directly as well as there own guides. Trance mediums actually step back from themselves and let the spirit come forward and take control of their mouths, voices, hands faces etc to give a message. Again these are people who are tuned into this energy vibration which then enables them to communicate with spirits. Mediums often see spirits as well as hear them. I think this is very difficult to do if you do not do it naturally and it does take time in my experience as I am not there fully yet. If you feel like you want to give this a go then go for it as to commune with spirits in that way has got to be amazing to say the least? It is after all like a muscle that just needs training up and the more you use it the stronger it becomes.
The differing types of Mediumship
Before we look into how to communicate with spirit let us first look at the different forms of mediumship.
Mental Mediumship:
All mental mediumship involves the mind spirit communicator becoming attuned with the mind of the medium. Communication is this form is regarded as spirit influence 10% and 90% mediums mind.
Clairvoyant
Clear-seeing is the means of either subjectively or objectively seeing the spirit communicator or images through the third eye. Occasionally this can be perceived through the waking or normal vision.
Clairaudient
Clear hearing is when the medium either subjectively or objectively hears the spirit communicator
Clairsentient
Clear sensing/feel is when the medium is able to feel/sense the spirit communicator and their messages.
Clair-knowing
Here the medium just knows the information about the spirit communicator.
Trance Medium
Here the spirit communicator has a greater influence over the mediums mind, and is often able to
Communicate directly with the recipient. Communication in this form, although still mental, is regarded as about 40% spiritual and 60% medium. The amount of spirit / medium is dependant upon the depth of trance but suffice to say it is never 100% spirit.
Find a quiet place and light some candles and a bit of incense, nice gentle music if you have it. Lie down or sit down and relax...
Deep breaths and just relax. As you relax simply state your intention in your head or out loud preferably, "I wish to communicate with spirit and develop my mediumistic ability" or words to that effect, whatever you are comfortable with.
When you feel relaxed try and imagine your protective bubble around and openly ask that your guides protect you. Everyone has them even if you sometimes feel like you don't.
Now imagine your bubble expanding right out to the universe and the heavens, just as far as you can.
I want you to imagine a golden light orb coming down from here all the way to the top of your head. This is your crown chakra, see it like an orb of golden light at the top of your head and try to feel it vibrating.
Now imagine it moving downwards to your forehead and imagine the orb there to be violet.
Now the throat, blue orb, chest, green orb, Solar plexus, yellow orb, stomach, orange orb & crotch, red orb.
Imagine the energy ball travelling right down to your feet and then deep into the earth, almost like a rod of colour connecting you to the heavens and the earth. From the earth I want you to imagine white light coming up and all of these colours meeting at you.
OK now I want you to invite your spirit guide into your bubble and ask that they make themselves know. Did you feel anything directly after you invited them in? A breeze across the face, goose bumps on the neck? No then just ask questions like, "Are you male? Are you my guide? Can I see you? Can you touch my nose to let me know you are here?" Try and get a feel for who they are and it does not matter if you think you are making it up just go with it. You may find that you get someone you can see on first time of trying but I have found it takes time and practice.

Psychic ability.
Believe it or not but most of have this. Most of us have tried to call someone who we have not spoken to for a while only to find that they are calling us at exactly the same time? Coincidence? Come on! The psychic stuff can be good fun and is basically the connection with another person’s energy or being sensitive to energies around you and being able to translate it.
Psychic Drawing
Mediums that are able to translate the thoughts emanating from spirit into a recognisable drawing, usually the face of the spirit communicator.
Spirit Writings
Two forms of spirit writing exist: one is Automatic writing and is where spirit are able to control the mediums arm to write. The other is Inspirational writing. This is where the medium writes down the thoughts coming from spirit.
Physical Mediumship:
A common feature for most, if not all, types of physical phenomena is the need for a supply of ectoplasm, which is supplied by the physical medium. Ectoplasm is taken from the medium, whilst usually in deep trance state, to allow the phenomena t o manifest. Apparitions - usually come in the form of gifts from the spirit world, and often appear 'out of thin air'.
Another is Transfiguration which is ectoplasm used by the spirit communicator to form a likeness of a spirit person, over the face of the medium.
Direct Voice is when the spirit communicator is able t o control a trumpet [metal cone) to which audible speech from the communicator is then heard. The trumpet acts as an amplifier so to direct the sound. Materialisations - the medium usually enters a deep trance and ectoplasm is used from the medium, to materialise, often fully, a person from spirit.
Levitation
A small table is required around which the circle will sit finger tips lightly touching the surface. The table will eventually tilt backwards and forwards or raps maybe heard.
Telekinesis
This is the movement of objects using the power of the mind or the energy of spirit. An object will stir without being touched, jump in the air, or move across the circle to the sitter and drop into their palm.
