Witches, Wizards & Shaman
Well now we come to the things of age old stories and myths. First of all I should explain that these things do exist. Who knows maybe your next door neighbor is a 'Witch' or the man who delivers the post is in fact a powerful Wizard? In my opinion the above three names all work in distinctly different ways, although as we have already seen, they all work with the same energy (Majick).
Witches
Witches are many things and the term is often used for a variety of descriptions. I prefer to think of a witch as someone who uses a ceremony of some kind to bring about a desired result. I also believe most witches work with nature, the elements and Gods & Goddesses. The subject is vast and so are the types and styles of witchcraft.
So how do we do it?
Well it is all about the intent and the raising of energy for that specific intent and purpose and then releasing it to do it's job. Sounds cool? Yep, it is. You can physically feel the energy to the point it will give you goose pimples. I am getting them just writing this! Right, you will need to find time when you will not be disturbed, have your candles and your incense and any 'majickal' items you may have. 'Majickal' items are things you have collected and given 'majickal' purpose. I will try and cover this later.
I now want you to imagine that there is a blue light coming out of your index finger in your prominent hand and draw a circle going around with the intent of creating a sacred circle for 'majick' in order to feel the energy. I would suggest you always say your intent out loud at least three times. It just seems to give it more power.
Once you have the circle around you on the floor I want you to take the circle out into a bubble so it also goes over the top of you and underneath, about a meter away from you all around will be fine.
Once you have your bubble sit quietly for a minute or two, breathing in through your nose and out through your mouth and just calming the mind. This is a good time to say in your head your intent. We are trying to raise the energy in this exercise and send healing so use that as your intent.
I now want you to invite in any spirits you wish, gods or goddesses, angels, ancestors, elements or the four directions, or whatever works for you. You can try all of them at different times and see how the energy changes if at all?
As you do this try and imagine the blue bubble around you vibrating, faster and faster. I want you to imagine the energy within the bubble being golden light and I want you to feel this vibrating faster and faster. If you can do this with your eyes closed and feel the energy building.
Once you feel it peek then release it by sending it to its intended recipient. Whoever you feel needs a bit of healing or if everyone's 'tickedy boo' in your life send it to the starving or whomever you wish.
When you have sent it by whatever means, whether you physically say "Go do your work" or "Let it be done", pointing your wand in the air or merely know that it has gone to where it's needed give thanks.
Give thanks to whoever or whatever you had invited in to your 'Majick' circle and then close down. I normally do it with thanks and then a clap of the hands.
Once you have finished I suggest you earth yourself by having something to eat & drink. Try and write down your experience in a journal (Book of Shadows). I only started one recently and forgotten many experiences through my growth which would be of benefit now.
Once you have your bubble try not to keep popping in and out, once you are in try and stay in. For general spell work find things that have power for you. What I mean is.... If you are going to do a sex spell you would not throw an old bobble hat into the cauldron would you? You know something Red, roses perhaps. Just think about it but nothing is wrong if you have the intention ok? So much more to this but I just don't have the space or the time to write it all down at the moment. Sorry.
Wizards
It's quite difficult to find people who admit to being 'Wizards' as apart from being quite a solitary vocation also has a certain amount of stigma attached. I guess it is due to a Wizard being perceived as having masses of power and as such rather egotistical for someone to proclaim them as a wizard? You see wizards already know things and are quite detached from situations in that they see why it happens and its purpose and also its outcome. The wizard does not always need to direct the energy as the outcome is known as is its reason. Because the wizard is pretty much breathing 'majick' daily and walks in it when they direct the energy they do it by mere words and tend to just expect it done rather than the 'please' and 'thank you's' of other such methods of energy direction. I believe the wizard uses a mix of several other methods including herbs with flowers blended with a tlb spoon of 'Majick'. I think they just know stuff and spend life remembering it. I am not sure if that makes perfect sense? Many books will tell you that wizards & shamans are one in the same. I disagree as shamans have existed in British history as have wizards. Hopefully below will explain the reasoning?
Shamans
A shaman pretty much looks after a community and is likely to be the only one for that community. When I say 'look' after the community I mean 'majickally'. They will keep things in balance by ritual, healing, invocation of spirit, trance, protection and seership. The major difference with shaman is that many, if not all, of the spiritual paths are passive in that spirit connects with us on a middle ground where we are given information through whatever sense, whereas the shaman is active. The shaman moves between the upper, middle & lower worlds in an active mode. In other words he walks in the world of spirit and is able to physically change things and see things in that world because he is physically there. I am sure this takes years of work but I have dabbled and had some success to the point of belief. It is after all the oldest belief known to man and people just don't do stuff for thousands of years if it doesn't work, evolution does not work like that? The shaman has several tools to visit these other worlds. A drum and a load of hallucinogenic plants! Like I said, 'I've dabbled'. I should explain the worlds? Well we are talking about worlds which exist but at different frequencies or vibrations. Sounds mad? Well you can't see your aura (unless you been practicing) and that is energy vibrating around you at a different frequency and yet we can take a picture of it. So why can’t it be possible for other worlds to exist but at a different frequency or vibration or density occupying the same space?
The lower world is where the spirits of nature live, animals, mythical beast, goblins, faeries etc. The upper worlds are the world of spirit as in angels and people. The middle one is here. Again these worlds are very real and just exist at a different energy vibration to this one. The shaman does offer the spirit world gifts for their help, which may sound like an archaic sacrifice but it is just another method of thanks.
I would suggest trying a few things first before jumping straight into shamanism or wizardry as you first need to know you and then 'everything' else! Witch craft is a good starter as you can do your own rituals and begin connecting to elementals and other strange beings that will certainly help you. If you feel that this is your path then as I have said in other pages "Just ask your spirit guides to make it so or give you a hand". Pay particular attention to the world around you.
